Backyard regulars
It's not uncommon for us to see a half dozen deer lounging in our backyard almost daily. These guys were all laying down but stood up as I approached with my camera. Picture almost doesn't look real. If you click on it to enlarge you can see the deer closest to you licking his nose.

Labor Day Air Show from Cleveland Ohio
Went sailing with the Kriegers to view the Labor day air show in Cleveland. Below are a couple of shots that I took from the boat and a couple video clips of the Blue Angels zipping over head. Lots of fun!
Allie and Madeline had a great time!
Jess' position for the length of the trip.
Jillian awoke for the ride back to the dock.
Jillian slept nearly the entire time on the boat.

Coins are Not CD's!
Make sure you explain to your 2 year old that dimes and pennies don't play music. Or you may have to take out your stereo and shake them out! :(

Your order for helicopter for the weekend
This was an email that came through to my work address.
Your order for our air transportation services has been accepted and processed. The chopper will be at your disposal from 12.00 wednesday to 10.15 a.m. thursday. Once again, the rates are as follows:
1 hour in the air: 736$
Takeoff / Landing: 243$
1 hour idle time on the ground: 88$
Longest period in the air is 3 hours.
When flying for longer distances, a second pilot is needed, and the cost accordingly grows by 130$ per hour.

Cheap material = crappy product
If you got a pair of crappy vans like I did. Send them to the address below.
Vans
1202 shuksan way
everett WA 98203
This was the note I sent along with my crappy vans. Hopefully I'll have some new shoes soon...
I purchased these shoes no more than 8 weeks ago for nearly sixty dollars. How would you feel if you put 60 of your hard earned dollars into something that falls apart like this? When I say "like this" I'm referring to the sole of the left shoe. I won't be buying any of these shoes with this cheap rubber. And I'll be sure to let everyone that I know that's a loyal vans customer to steer clear of these shoes. thanks for understanding. Instead of replacing with same shoes I would prefer to get a pair of the Vans Era™ Core Classics size 10.5 in black. Thank you!

These were the shoes I had and in less than 8 weeks of simply walking in them there was a hole in the sole. Not cool!

Public Square Group
The unparalleled advocacy of northeastern Ohio’s Public Square Group should serve as a model for skatepark supporters throughout the country as stated on Tony Hawk Foundations website. I want to be a family membership keyholder with PSG!

After many years of talking about it - we finally did it.
We are building a mini ramp for members of PSG and kicking it off with the highest levels of membership dues which includes 24/7 keyfob access.
PSG is growing in demand and involvement and we needed an office. Besides the Crooked River Skate Park and the Broadway Ave skate park (Grindline as well!) we have served hundreds of skaters and over 100 kids have been through our lessons over the last 2 years. The list of projects and events is too long to put on one page. Time to get an office and workshop. We figured we would also address the annual issue of indoor skating and good skate-only mini ramps all in one spot.
We are building this September and should be skateable by Halloween. Eventually we will do other membership levels but for now we are booking the keyholder levels. Future levels will be for certain hours and events only.
All the details we have are up here so far - just wanted to email all you guys have been involved over the years so you can hear it from me first before we promote it to the general membership and public. You may have heard rumors but this is what we got so far.
It may not make sense for you based on it being downtown Cleveland - but we hope to add more locations and different places under the same membership. All depends on demand - just wanted to let you know.
Over the last week we are already halfway to the minimum number of members to build so jump on now before Oct 1st and your next dues won't be until Jan 2013.
We are also going to be looking for sponsors to help cover the costs (dues won't cover it all) so if you have ideas - let us know. We will be pushing harder on that once we get building.
For now - read up and sign up!

PS. BTW - The Crooked River Skate Park is in Engineering phase. They are doing the heavy engineering to build the park down there with a high water table and it has slowed it down. But they are working on the bid docs and Grindline is still working directly with them. Just slowed down thanks to sandy soil and water down there. They have upped their manpower to do this - they are super dedicated.

ATT Employee Carries Verizon
Back in July of this summer an ATT employee whom will remain unnamed for identity purposes was a verizon customer. Funny! We were talking about families and he pulls out his phone to show me a picture and right on the top of his phone..... Verizon!... too funny. He said "Truth is we don't have more bars" ... Ouch! That should tell you something...

Skate kitchen ramp finished November 2011. Go get a membership and support north east ohio skateboarding by making a donation to the best non-profit that exists! Period!
New Google home page
Weird phenomena. I'm getting the new google home page with Internet Explorer but not with Google's Chrome Browser. Strange part is that I use Chrome way more than IE. But IE is the one with the new home page. Screen shots below..
